Located in a renovated downtown department store building, the Children’s Hands-On Museum (CHOM) brings a wide variety of educational displays and programs to the youth of West Alabama. Fitts Architects has been involved since the museum’s inception in 1984 with renovations to the facility and the design of permanent displays such as ‘Beaver’s Bend‘, ‘Japan House‘, and the ‘Live Arts Center.’ More recently renovations to the front facade, interior lighting, and building systems that have enhanced the facility into a place of wonder and delight.
